How to downgrade iOS 10.2 to iOS 10.1.1

iOS 10.2 has brought with it many new features and functions, however, not everyone is pleased and happy with the new update of Apple. They find it sometimes buggy, emerging with old and new errors that Apple hasn’t been able to fix yet.

For those who are struggling in this situation with your iOS devices, there is a chance to downgrade back to iOS 10.1.1 which is the most stable, recent iOS version. This post will guide you how to do it with step by step instructions.


Precondition – you need to prepare these materials before proceeding

Downgrade iOS 10.2 to iOS 10.1.1:

1. Connect your iOS device to PC with USB cable


2. Open iTunes on your computer. Wait for your iTunes to recognize your device and click device summary for the connected iPhone or iPad


3. In this step, on the Summary tab, you need to hold Shift key on your keyboard and then click on Check for Update

4. Now, it will open a popup window asking for the direction to your Firmware folder – you need to navigate to the early downloaded Firmware iOS 10.1.1 on your computer. Then click on Open to process


5. iTunes will ask for your final confirmation before it proceeds downgrading process – click on

Update to continue

6. Finally, wait for iTunes to restore your device to iOS 10.1.1 – the process will be shown on the screen. When it finishes, your device will reboot and show the Hello screen.
